Frequently asked questions about Swiva

Everything you want to know about Swiva. Short, honest and no marketing fluff.

What is Swiva exactly?

Swiva is the place for everything you want to do someday. Try new restaurants, discover cool spots, cook recipes, start little side quests or finally do that thing your group has been talking about for months. You collect everything in lists and can later just swipe through your ideas.

Who is Swiva for?

For everyone who constantly saves cool stuff and then never looks at it again. For friend groups who always say "we really need to do something together" but can never agree on anything. And for everyone who wants to experience more without having to plan every single weekend.

Why do you need a separate app for that?

Because your ideas are scattered everywhere. A restaurant saved on Google Maps, a recipe on TikTok, an activity in your Instagram saves and the rest somewhere in your notes or group chat. In Swiva, everything lands in one place and doesn't just get forgotten.

What can I save in Swiva?

Pretty much anything you might want to do someday. Restaurants, cafés, recipes, day trip ideas, date ideas, travel plans, books, movies, sports, challenges, DIY projects or just some random idea that pops into your head.

How does Smart Import work?

You find something cool on TikTok, Instagram, Google Maps or another app and just share it to Swiva. We automatically create a draft with the key info. You can tweak everything and then save it straight to a list.

Do I need to connect my Instagram or TikTok account?

Nope. You don't need to connect any accounts or share any login details. You just use the regular share function on your phone and send the post or link to Swiva.

Can I add my own ideas?

Of course. Not every good idea comes from a social media post. You can create activities completely from scratch or edit an imported draft until it fits your list perfectly.

How do lists work?

You can create lists for anything. For example "Restaurants in Vienna", "Summer Bucket List", "Date Ideas", "Things to do when we are bored" or "Recipes I actually want to cook". That way you actually find your ideas again later.

Can I create lists together with others?

Yes. You can share lists with friends, your partner, your family or your travel crew and fill them together. Finally no more ideas getting lost in five different group chat threads.

What's the point of swiping?

You know that moment when you have plenty of ideas but still don't know what to do? That's exactly what the swiping is for. You only see one activity at a time and spontaneously decide if you're in the mood for it or if you'd rather skip it for now.

What's in the Explore section?

That's where you find new ideas when your own lists come up empty. From food and selfcare to sports and entertainment to challenges and little side quests. Perfect for days when you just can't think of anything yourself.

What are challenges in Swiva?

Challenges are made up of multiple activities that you can try one by one. Your progress is shown right away so you can see what you've already done. But don't worry, Swiva doesn't suddenly turn into a stressful to-do app because of it.

Who can see my lists?

That's completely up to you. Your lists can stay private, be shared with specific people or be made public. You don't have to post anything just because you saved it in Swiva.

What makes Swiva different from Instagram saves, notes or a regular bucket list?

Those apps mostly just help you save stuff. Swiva brings your ideas from different apps together and then actually helps you decide. We don't want you to collect even more. We want you to finally do something with the ideas you've already saved.

Is Swiva a to-do app?

No. Please, not another app telling you to be more productive. Swiva isn't about checking off as much as possible. It's about using your free time more intentionally and turning "someday" into an actual plan.

Is Swiva free?

Yes, you can currently use Swiva completely for free.

Who's behind Swiva?

Swiva is built by a small team from the fields of mobile development, design and project management. The idea was born during our studies at the University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten. Since then we've been developing the app together, trying to make it better with real feedback.
